Hi, and yes that is 24/7 ;D ;D --- and for some that is only the start --- may wind up going several months before you "really" like the looks of some ! ;D on the rotory v vib --- one is as good as the other for the finish product --- it's more like how much time you want to spend --rotories you can load and start then leave them for a week at a time --- vibs will work alot faster 3-4 days v 2-3 weeks but you need to check them maybe 1-2-3 times a day as they can lose a bit of water and will dry out because the lids aren't sealed near as tight --- also in the vibs/rotories you can pre grind the stones to a certain shape or get rid of the deep pits to move things along faster if you went "gem" mining then you prob don't want to start with them ----- first few batches you should try some agate or hard jasper --- until you get "the" shine figured out ----- hope you have fun and keep asking questions ----------- ;D

it's "the" eb y can't happen scam sales ---- the one that eb y says can't happen ---whoever it is , is taking someones account and changing or listing things that aren't real --- same account has 5-6 saws with no pic for $10,000 each ---- figured it was that same guy who was giving them fits back at the end of the year --- he's getting around anything they put up as a guard ---------------

Stoner would be the one to ask about those -- he's cut some "beatuies" --- that looks to be more what I would call "seam" opal ---looks like you could get rid of the matrix and have some good just solid opal ---- boulder is usually little individual areas in an iron oxide matrix -- not continous like that is --- but I may be wrong too ;D

it's all over now so I'll de-code it ---------- Don was wanting to bid on a two wheel arbor I had on e--y but had a couple questions on it --- they wouldn't let me respond because it was under 12 hours to go ( like 11 & 1/2 ) so I wanted to let him know about it but not draw too much attention to it and yet he would have the answers so he could bid accordingly--- so I posted to him here hoping he would see it , and he did --- but deb193 -Dan figured it out and outbid him

Well, I went to T S C and they didn't have the left handed nuts?? BUT I did find them at another hardware store ( only store around that has everything to fit everything but you have to ask or else spend hours looking!!) -------- then again I did find some collars there --- not just the regular ones in with the nuts/bolts section --- if you go to the back of the store they have "tractor" parts -- for farm machinery they call them " hub collars" and they are about 3-4 times as heavy and have at least two set screws in them ----for a 1" shaft they are about 1 & 1/2"s long and prob 2 & 1/2" thick ( use on combine/ corn picker shafts)

anyone know where I can get some left handed threaded nuts ? -- only need a couple ( not a hundred pack ) ;D-- will have to check the num of threads but think it is 5/8" diameter ( maybe 3/4)

only the custom made will be stainless --- most are just good steel and after a short while they get rusted up ---- Sheri had to sand the rust off that one I think --- stainless just makes it alot easier later to change wheels and such

I'm not familiar with the "max pro" but thought those were a sealed bearing --- ( no grease needed) -- but could be wrong -- was just wondering if those holes in the back were to reach a set screw on the shaft ?? you can use rubber contact cement to glue the leather pad on -- will make it easier to take off later ----- if you are going to use diamond paste then get a slick ( tan colored) leather --- if using a polish then you could go with a grey suede --( or courser gade leather)

I don't own a rotory but do have five vibs--- if anything isn't quite round enough I just hit it on the grinding wheel and throw it in the vib --- I start them with 220 grit and use pellets --- it will grind them down !--- if not happy in a couple days I throw in a little more grit and let it run for a couple more days --- I can make powder out of them if left long enough ! ;D
