Well, I polish my rocks by hand also, but I use wet/dry sand paper-silicon carbide, on glass. Never tried grit...yet. It's just easier for me to get many different grit sizes. But I will give grit a try. Sounds good.

All puppies have a special talent sometimes it's hard to find and it might take a long time. But... That puppy is able to make money, it even sleeps with a dollar bill for a blanket. Lol So that puppy is dreaming about, what's next.

Rocker, yes they look like that and they don't tumble well. Just like you said and Like my slurry was so gritty from the geode pieces. It was crazy. The pieces ended up so small I was just wasting my time. Has any body ever tried a super glue on the crystals so they don't break in pieces?

You still have flint ridge rocks and it takes forever to tumble them, shotgunner. You don't need anymore...Right That was your better half speaking.

ROTFL... They have the run and a wiggle in the walk. When you stop the video there tails are a blurr from wagging so fast.

A friend gave me a box full of geo pieces, good tumbling size. so, stage 1 started with 60/90 grit. After about 4 days I always open it just to make sure everything is moving along. The slurry was very thin but very gritty. The grit I put in and particles from the geo's. Kept tumbling without any change on my part. I noticed the geo's are getting smaller all over but the rock didn't seem to be rounding, just getting smaller...like shrinking. I stopped tumbling to ask... Does the process need to be changed or is that what usually happens? At the end the stones might be the size of grit. Any ideas to help this situation? ....maybe just toss the geo's in the garden? I don't know.

Please don't take this wrong.. But me being deaf they could be right next to me and I would still sleep like a baby...Mr. Baby. Take the worse thing you have and make the best of it. Also, in the winter I move the rock tumbler in my bedroom so it don't freeze. Crazy

The list shotgunner made is very good. Where I used to work , The marketing manage said " Bad news travels 10 times faster than good news." If you was to ask a friend what drill to buy, he would say well don't buy this brand because... So, #6 is very important.

And as far as the heat shrink goes, get the kind with adhesive lining so if you happen to pull on the cord it want create a gap for water to enter.

If you use Loctite, don't use "red" or " green"

Very nice first batch. You were talking about that you didn't do this or that, you did good. If you never make a mistake ... Then you may not ever learn.

Brings a tear to you eye. It could have been a backpack full of gravel but it came from his heart and it's all for My Dad. Great job.

I just now started looking at some pics and jugglerguy that is a beautiful tumble because that rock started out as a landfill rock. You turn it into a princess. Kind of like Cinderella.

A good place to learn the ropes. Lots of knowledge here. Just don't be afraid to ask. I will start, where in SW Ohio? I'm a Bellbrook guy.

Ok, something is not right. I love peanut butter but I do like my bacon cooked. Also, my wife says I'm not a rat....sometimes a dirty pig but no rat.
