From my point of view it does not look like amber, but not sure that the Baltic amber we find here in Denmark Will look the same as yours?? We get a lot of amber on the beaches and from what i know 1. If a piece of amber was put in a tumbler with grit 80 and 10 lbs of jasper I'm pretty sure it would be gone after a couple of days 2. Not sure if it's the photo that cheats but we use Uv light to pick the amber up from the Beach and it looks a lot more like phycadelia than it it looks like from your photo. 3 if you rolle in your hands you Will clearly smelter it. 4. Easy Way to ID is the weight, it's almost as light as rotten dry Wood. You Will always be surpriced how light it's
Not sure if it helps you or if we can compare.

The Mojave purple loves a gold setting (in this case 14/20 gold filledl. The bronze takes on the hue of the gold. This one is going to a friend for her birthday today. I can be your friend too😜

Went to Bryce park in 2009 and it was my biggest nature experience so far, stayed close and got to se it twice, went to se it as the sun rised in the morning, will never forget that sight and it gave me goosebums. Loved it and your beautiful pictures reminds me of the trip.

Amber has always been one of my all time favorite stones! So cool you can hound your own! Looking forward to seeing what you do with then! I love night hunting with UV lights too. Didn't realize that Amber was fluorescent. I'll have to pull mine out and look. Did you use long or short wave? Sorry have no clue on the wave? Use a cheap Uv light from eBay. This on This is amber on the beach. Brought a piece i had at home to match Also found a lot of fossils to, Think it might be the chalck that lights up Fossil coral More fossil Not fossil😄

Here in Denmark we Call amber for "Danish gold" and of course i had to try and Hunt some Down. So I went for an hour drive to one of the few beaches here in my parts of the country where there is amber beeing found. It turns out it's a complete science to find it. It has to be a wide Beach with no rocks(due to the different in weight between rocks and amber, amber Will never be found where the is rocks) the Wind has to come from a specifik direction and the tide must be low! To top all of that you Hunt in the Night with a UV light. How fun is that😜 Ok, but I managed to find 3 small pieces before my face froze off. I so happy and it tastes off more. Looking forward to try and polish in the morning, just have to figure out wich wheels to use. Was thinking 400 soft....ish

Thanks rockjunquie it's 0,6mm wire that would be around gauge 23-24 and that's the one the supplier suggested but I did look at the Supplies webpage this morning and also found that it was the only one they had. So I guess I'm looking for a new Supplies. Any suggestions on the Best gauge for a beginner?
