I fully admit as a whole this batch is not my best. There is at least one interesting thing that I want to share though. First the obligatory group shot: 1. A couple pictures of something that almost resembles bone. 2. I like the patterns in this red stone. 3. 4. 5. This reminds me of an elephant foot. 6. Some littles. 7. Just kinda like this one for some reason. 8. Last picture. These are mostly back yard finds. Bought a rock book to figure out what they are. I am very curious about the first one though. Any insights? I love how some parts of it really took shine. Thanks for looking and any feedback you may have!

I plan on getting ahold of them this weekend. Work got busy and we got snow so didn't have a chance to go digging. I will update soon!

It's in central South Dakota. I know I pull quote a few chunks of pet wood out of the pastures but it doesn't quite look like that picture. It's more like this: I know this isn't a great picture. Better in person.

This is about 5 minutes from my house, so I don't have to worry about shipping charges. Does petrified wood break up easily? I have small tumblers, and no saw. I'm not familiar enough with it to know how much I would want to pick up.
Thanks for the feedback.

I saw this in fb today. .50 lb for petrified wood. Is it a good deal?

What is number 21? I have found quite a few pieces that resemble it, but am not sure what they are.
These tumbles are great. I can't pick a favorite.

I've ran about 4 batches through my raytech tv-5. I have found if I put a rock that is to big in, or if I accidentally get too thick of slurry I get indentations in my rocks because they get jammed. As long as the rocks are the correct size and the slurry is the consistency of heavy cream I don't seem to have those issues. My guess is it isn't the lid that is causing the problem, but something going in inside that comes up after an hour or so of running.

Pretty stones. I can't wait to see them after they have rounded out in the 60/90.

I have no idea what it is but you might as well throw it in the tumbler. Even if it doesn't shine it will smooth out.

You just made my day! I wish I had secrets. I just have been following ya'll's advise on here. They ran for about 5-7 weeks in the rotary (if not a bit more) and then 2 days on 120 2 days on 700, 2 days on pre-polish and 36 hours on polish with a 4 hour burnish. I ran a variety of ceramics from 120 on and pulled out junk each time I cleaned out.
