garock said When I go collecting at Graves Mountain in Georgia, I always get the willies seeing folks digging in the walls of the main pit. I am careful even digging on slopes. I reckon folks have been very lucky at Graves. I know I don't push my luck ! Last thing I don't want to hear is rocks cracking and then get covered up.
Every time I have been to graves I was told never ever dig at or near the walls still I see idiots doing it. We had to yell at 3 last time I was there they had worked their way up the wall about 15 feet off the floor. George

Hi Kim glad you did not mind me posting it I loved watching it being built. I to am going trough the big D after 33 years I have spent many sad days in the last 10 months wondering what went wrong at least so far I get to keep my rocks. Scott I called dibs on the vogesite last night after you called her out for posting on here with just one post but I am sure she has more. Kim if its still up for grabs send me details on sending you some money before Scott gets his girly hands on it lol.

Wow long time no see! You can buy with confidence she has been around way longer than me and I been here since 06.She has sold more than most on here have and not one bad sale and really great and hard to get material to boot. What's up Kim getting out of the lapidary business. I went to Woodward ranch a few years back hoping to meet you and you could not make it and have not posted but once or twice since. I will be buying for sure great to see you back BTW. George

No need to wash them off I have hundreds of them and can't tell a thing by looking at the outside unless you have A broke or chipped one and you still can't really tell till you slice them open. George

KK the first picture looks like my flint ridge flint, the black if its from me is magnetite a high grade, the green would be epidote mixed in to test it try a magnet if it a tracks it that's what it is.The Indian gold looks more like what the magnetite normally looks like that would be quartz running through it the gold is not pyrite but some other impurity it also has some pink feldspar that some time's is present. I can't find my September issue must be the one you are talking about as I recall I thought the same thing when I read it to.I do have a touch of olds himmers so I can't recall just what I read or if I even read it lol. Sarahr I have never heard of moss agate described that way. Moss agate can be any color as long as it looks to have a mossy nature to its appearance and since it is an agate it can and will have some clear areas in it but dose not always have green in it.
