Like I said before! I am SOOOOO JEALOUS!! And the beautiful pic of Cathedral Mountain! Makes me want to put on the boots and do some climbing! But, couldn't make the trip since we're saving up to go broke on an Alaskan cruise/trip! Plus mother nature is putting in her two cents causing me to go under the knife one more time. Having an Arthroscopy of the shoulder! Boy has the pain been putting a cramp into my rock cutting/polishing/ and tumbling! I only have 2 out of 10 tumblers running! BUMMER! But I can't wait to see more pics of the people, the rocks and the wildlife that you people surely enjoyed to no end. Thanks for posting the pictures and maybe y'all could tell us a few stories on each other? Or is it "What happens at Woodward Ranch STAYS at Woodward Ranch"?

Well, I failed as far as getting a lot of pics goes, but here is my contribution. I sure hope we have a spare tire! Hey, you guys done yet? The cabin My view as I awoke each morning. Cathedral Hill at sunrise Eagle Peak at sunrise A resemblence to Eagle Peak, I gave this cab to the Woodwards. They said they would put this on display in their shop. Condor made walking sticks for everyone. Very cool. Got firewood? Pho brought this from home. It was nearly gone by the time I left. The door prize table. Thanks to all who sent something. Sheri wrapped them up for us. Wow, cool. What did you get? Damn, look at them beauties!(Sheri and Pho) Gotcha Kim Gotcha Dan This is what it's all about. Condor, Blarneystone, Kim and Morgan. Kim and "Mini Kim" Morgan looks and sounds just like her mother. A real "Peace officer" Look, I found a piece of Chrysocolla! Back row left to right: Pho, Desertdweller, Condor, Holly(Kim's friend), Mailman, Drupe, rockds, lonewolfhound and sons. Front row: Blarneystone, akansan, rockhobbit, Mini Kim(Morgan), rockyraccoon, stoner, spikeict. Missing were NMrocks and her dogs, Mrs mailman, Mrs lonewolfhound, the Woodwards. I hope I didn't forget anyone else.

Wow! Great bunch of pictures Ed! Doesn't look like things have changed much since last time I was there. Nice to have the pics to refresh the memory though. Love that last group shot. and it is fun to be able to put pictures to all the names. Sure are a happy looking bunch and *L* much cleaner than the grubby bunch I rockhounded with! Must be the teepee living in that nice cabin and all *L*. The time I went and dug with the Cajun rockhounds from Louisiana, we were all so red with dirt we were all ready to play the Indians in a John Wayne movie after the first days diggins. Think the only shower was at the main house then and we had to pay something like $2.00 for a shower and man that felt good! Anyway, good job with the pics and I'll be waiting feverishly to see some more collecting pics and a showcase of the best finds....mel

Made it home finally, Stoner and I waited at the airport for quite a while, our flights were delayed because of rain in Huston. Gave us time for a farewell drink though. I had such a great time making friends with everyone, the stories at the end of each day kept us laughing all night. These are a few things that will probably always be remembered by everyone that went. The green burrito I'm Busy! He said he was dizzy, silly, not busy! "Deer in the hole, deer in the hole" Noisy scary monsters across the creek Could you kindly pull that thing out of my butt! snoring ever lasting friendships Too many funny stories, I wouldn't even know where to start. Met some fantastic, overly generous, frisky and funny people that I will remember forever. I got to spend a little time with Pete, I taught him how to destroy a blender in less than 60 seconds, and in return he showed me a quick way out of a stressful situation....But I guess only Pete and I will be able to laugh about that one. I also spent a day with Don, (mailman).....I'm sure he thinks I'm beyond help after following me around in the desert but I made some lasting memories with him. I spent some time with Kim also, in fact she taught me "Driving over bushes 101". Her little girl Morgan and I collected so many agates, when we had filled our backpacks, I showed Morgan how to use her shirt as a rock bag. I'm sure Kim will really appreciate that but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do when there are that many agates on the ground. I spent the most time with Stoner and Condor, we were like 3 peas in a pod, I don't think Condors truck will ever be the same. I made friends with 3 canines, 1 of them doubling as an alarm clock, thanks fergie! I got to know nmrocks, rockds, lonewolfrockhound, Holly, Drupe, spikeict, Pho, Blarneystone, and akansan well enough to know that not only do they make great rockhounding buddies but they are some of the best friends you could ever have. As for Stoner, Rockyraccoon, Morgan, Condor, Mailman and Dorothy, and Sheri, I will see them all again no matter what it takes. OK, This is what I have opened up so far, I think all of them are outstanding. Thanks everyone for a wonderful time, Sheri, I wish I had an award for you, you did a great job and made a lot of people very happy.

LMAO, Some of your best finds were in my pile? I hate it when that happens. Don't worry, I'll share. I promised Dale a woodward ranch rock and also promised a few other RTHers something from there, wish I could of brought home more than 35 lbs. What time did you finally make it home last night?

Toad, there was so much stuff on the ground and so many varieties it was overwhelming, and that was just one small area on the ranch.

No picture here, so please read this closely so that you will see the picture in your mind.
During the evening, but most especially at night, there is an old Indian mystic that roams the land out there in Woodward country, and other areas. He is quite fragile now because if his age, but still walks around barefoot. He has developed serious tough calluses because of this and parts of his hands also are callused. According to those who have come across him, he is actually quite nice, and very knowledgable about living off the land, though he is somewhat scary looking. Especially when he come up to you at night, and you're out in the middle of nowhere. He believes he has been hexed by someone, thereby giving him severe halitosis, so when people talk to him they have to stand off to his side. None of us saw him, but it is a well known fact that one of the RTH members out there was afraid. Very afraid. There was however, no need to fear. For he is the man known as.....The super-fragile-callused-mystic-hexed by halitosis man.
Thanks for the laugh Mailman. It was a great joke. Don't know if Mark will ever be the same though.

yeah and all he had to say was hoobs or hubas, wish I knew what that meant. All this happened after the scary deer in the hole adventure that left Morgan dripping wet.
