Interesting to see the outside being done. Here we do the EIFS system on some of the jobs, mostly commercial.Exterior Insulating Finishing System, the correct term,I just call it foam system. We imbed a layer of fiberglass mesh on the first coat over the Styrofoam, then the finish. We cut in joints ever so often to have a starting and stopping point,to keep the color true as its floated out. Anyway keep the pics coming. Enjoying it.

They put out huge crop.Getting ready to bear fruit and hang it up.Could you have planted another crop 4-6 weeks later for another batch in July or is it too hot by then? That is a lot of south wind.No wonder you get a lot of tomatoe heat.I always wondered how the Strawns grew tropical water lilies in College Station;they are unforgiving and die out when long (not very) cold spells come along.Or the warm is too late to have them marketable for April,May and June.Texas attacked the water lily business and tried to have it declared a noxious plant.Mainly due to their aggressive behavior in south Texas. The Strawn lilies are the finest hybrid hardy water lilies in the world.Thailand hybrids are nipping at their heels but using Strawn foundation in their hybridizing program. The Strawns are a special family and treated their clients like kings;always giving us bonus plants and superb quality. houstonpondsociety.org/symposium.htmlJames,the temp is already at the point of almost no fruit set. In the past,I've planted seed 1st of June and set out plants in July. They would bloom like crazy until temps cooled off in Sepotember, then they would set fruit. Hit and miss on fall frost.

These will be the last tomato pics till next year! This is my bed that is the edge of my garden. The strong south winds blew all the tops of the plants over to the side, exposing all the tomatoes. Thanks for looking, been fun,and tastes good too! snuffy

My first time growing and everything looks good .....Except the pesky birds keep beating me to the good ripe ones ..I have fake snakes and scare tape up ..Any ideas to ward them off.....MIght have get some security cats to run protection for me LOL...John John,I've never been bothered by birds pecking them.Got a bunch of birdhouses up,a couple feeders, many hanging around.I have seen people put a bird net over their plants.Another thing you can do is pick them when they begin to show a blush of color, put them in the house and they will be ripe in about three days.In fact,I never let them fully ripen on the vine, too much temptation for bugs, snails, birds, neighbors. snuffy No neighbors!! ;D

Sometimes I have knee problems.I eat a pint of the canned tomatoes a day for 4 or 5 days and they clear up and are good to go another 6 months or a year.Something in them that is good medicine! Never a problem during growing season. Dr. snuffy ;D ;D

The plants aren't setting much more fruit, will be too hot.So whats there is about it.Usually have them until the first week in July.I can 30- 40 quarts for cooking stews and chili. I never buy canned tomatoes. My sons motherin law makes salsa out of about 150 lbs.I give the rest away to family and friends, older folks who cant garden anymore.Sometimes sell a few.
On the menu today
Taco salad, smothered in fresh chopped tomato, onion, sour cream, picante sauce.
