Are these types of saw any good for cutting thunder eggs or Dugway geodes?

I use a Shop-Vac Bucket Max. Be sure to use a strong wall bucket.

I use CA on rock for fractures. I buy in bulk from www.starbond.com Hot Shot is also another distributor for CA.

The first two are palm rhizomes (root) from California. Look up Edison palm or Mohave desert palm for more pictures to compare. The last piece is a transverse cut of wood and from the Hampton Butte area of Oregon. The last picture is the best as it appears to be ring porous and possibly sycamore or beach. I would have to have it in hand to be positive.

The piece in the photo is not the original Owyhee. It looks like Wild Horse material. One could also name several other mines in that vicinity that can have a similar jasper pattern. The healed fractures can make for some pretty patterns.

I've had better results with PB Blaster for breaking frozen hardware free than WD40. One can find it at automotive and most hardware stores.

I also have a 40lb tumbler. The weight of the barrel and rock chews through the heater hose I was using on the rollers. I epoxied conveyor belt on the barrel and have good results. A friend rivets serpentine belt on to his 12 lb barrels.

$150 for a water swivel is inline with the majority of manufacturers. I use one from www.ukam.com/water_swivel_adopters.html Cheaper cost relates to lower quality parts and eventually run out when trying to core. I prefer using small core bits under water to minimize the mess and setup of the water swivel.

I want to make some bracelets like this one: www.firemountaingems.com/itemdetails/D666865JWCan anyone provide a supplier for twist on beads, half drilled beads, or even balls so I can fabricate my own? I'm looking for 6mm round sterling silver or copper. Thanks!

The one on HF will work good for cab preforms. If you want to cut down fossil leaves, fish, or trilobites, you will want a 7" tile saw. Watch the adds and you will find them on sale for $80 to $90.

I have a taurus diamond wire saw. I do not recommend it for cutting cab preforms for average slabs. The cost of each diamond wire is around $40. However, I use it for very expensive slabs as there is very minimal waste. Then, I'm able to get more cabs per slab. Remember these diamond wire saws are manufactured for glass cutting. The first time I used this saw, I was only able to cut 11 preforms out of Arizona rainbow wood 1/4" slabs using a 80 grit diamond wire. Mileage will vary with hardness.

I recently purchased a drag saw with a new 6 foot diamond blade. The saw is homemade. The original owner did not complete it due to health problems. I want to verify the gearing and construction before using it. What length should the stroke be and how fast?
